Stoney Nakoda - Chief Jacob Bearspaw School The Stoney Nakoda consists of 3 separate groups. Today I will be talking about the Chief Bearspaw School which is located on the Eden Valley Reserve. It is important to spread and gain knowledge on Indigenous practices. We can use these in our teaching practices to create an inclusive and safe environment for all, while also educating students on the history of the land we live on today. We can stay closely connected to teachers all around Calgary and create meaningful relationships with others. Lesson planning can become a lot more simple through seeing others ideas and lessons that they have taught in their own classrooms. Twitter can keep us updated on politics relating to education. I can use twitter as my voice and to spread positive outlooks onto others. I could potentially make a positive change in other teachers attitudes through my twitter.

 Professional Responsibilities "Engages with colleagues in professional learning" My goal for this semester is to engage fully and bond with my colleagues at my practicum. I want to learn how to better communicate with the parents of students in my field placement. I have not gained full confidence in talking to other teachers and often follow my mentor teacher, when I could be building deep connections with other members of the faculty. I hope to gain and learn confidence in my practicums. To reach this goal, I hope to go above and beyond with my engagement in different school activities. I will try to include myself in as many after school activities as I can to push my boundaries and comfort levels to push me out of my shell.
